It will be a centre of excellence for Biomedical and Environmental Science and Technology (BEST), offering the opportunity to take a highly regarded, full time technical course of study. The UTC will deliver a technical education to 670 students, who are looking for a career in the growth industries of biomedical and environmental science and technology. CMA Planning worked with Hawkins Brown on the project, preparing a Planning Statement to support the application as well as assisting with the submission and queries that arose. The application was approved unanimously by the City Council in 2013. It was Shortlisted for the RIBA 2015 East Regional Award.
